Liquid Democracy
Traditional voting treats everyone equally — whether you've studied the issue for months or are voting at random. Liquid democracy fixes this: vote directly or delegate to someone you trust.
Direct vote
Choose one of the options — like a regular referendum. Up to 10 choices, not just yes or no.
Delegation
Don't want to dig into the topic — delegate your vote to someone you trust on this issue. Your vote now counts alongside theirs.
Transitivity
If your delegate also delegated to someone — the chain continues. Alice → Bob → Carol: when Carol votes, her vote counts as 3.
Revoke at any time
Vote directly and the delegation is cancelled automatically. You can always take back control.
Alice→Bob→Carol ✓= 3 votes
Verifiable results
Every vote is PGP-signed. Results are published with an audit log — anyone can verify the data hasn't been changed.
Where you can vote
- In the Parahub community — decisions on platform development
- In a venue or organization — internal decisions
- One-off votes — for any group of participants
Civic opinion polls
Alongside binding decisions, Parahub runs a non-binding opinion barometer for the place you live. Civic polls are badged as opinion, never as a decision, and are scoped to a level of territory — your parish, município, region, country, or the whole EU.
Scoped to where you live
You see and answer the polls for your own territories, and results are shown by territory — a parish question stays a parish question.
Unlinked from your profile
Territorial opinion votes are stored unlinked from your profile, after an explicit consent step written in plain words, and results are only ever shown in groups large enough not to single anyone out.
Verifiable without exposing you
Each vote comes with a receipt you can check to confirm it was counted as cast — without revealing what you chose.
Standing delegations
Hand your voice on a whole topic or a whole territory to someone you trust, and take it back whenever you want. Household and condominium ballots cover smaller shared decisions, and a citizen-ideas pipeline turns well-supported proposals into polls.
